Academic Technical Support
The University has two Academic Technical Support teams, each tasked with supporting one of two academic areas - Arts or Sciences. The size, shape and structure of each team varies according to the needs of the faculties they support, although their function remains the same: to support academics and students with their teaching and research activities.
Both teams provide specialist support for teaching, learning and research activities to ensure they run smoothly. This can be anything from preparing resources, operating large specialist laboratories, workshops and studios, to setting up classrooms and teaching environments.
Teams Overview
The teams are each led by a Technical Operations Manager, who is responsible for ensuring that a coordinated and efficient support service is provided to the faculties, students, staff and external customers and suppliers within their area.
The Arts Academic Technical Support Team is led by Peter Scott and comprises four sub teams:
- Arts & Design
- FabLab
- Glass & Ceramics
- Media & Communications (including Languages and Science based in FES)
The Sciences Technical Support Team is led by Mark Addison and also comprises four sub teams:
- Biopharmacy & Psychology
- Biomedical
- Computing & Engineering
