We provide those IT services that the University of Sunderland requires to deliver across the entire business whether that be learning and teaching, research or commercial.
The Technical Services IT team provide the core networks connecting us to the national network JANet (www.ja.net) and other commercial networks ensuring our University, whichever location, is connected to the rest of the world. We also run the University data centres where we run the platforms on which University IT applications and services run and we provide and maintain the tools and services that keep the University running day-to-day.
Our development team work with business areas to design and deliver innovative services and projects to support learning, teaching and research and toad the efficient and effective administration of a modern university. FabLab
The first in the North East, FabLab Sunderland offers a diverse range of specialist digital design and fabrication equipment. Based at the Hope Street Xchange in Sunderland city centre, it is a creative space where anyone can make (almost) anything.
