You will save time when producing alternate formats if you create documents with accessibility in mind.

If requested by a user, it is a legal requirement to provide documents, leaflets, electronic resources etc in an alternative format.

Alternative format examples:

• large print
• Braille
• a paper copy of an electronic resource or vice versa
• electronic resource in an alternative format, e.g. Word document instead of PDF

Documents do not need to be produced in alternative formats until a request has been received. However, if you are producing video, it must be accessible.
