How do I access Microsoft 365?

The following advice is intended to help a new staff member access Microsoft 365. If you are an existing staff member, we have an FAQ for Microsoft 365 which contains lots of useful info to help you get started, and to answer some common queries you may have.  You can access that page on our SharePoint site here

If you are a new starter, the first thing you will need to do is reset your password. You can do that by following the steps detailed here Resetting your password

Once you have reset your password, you will need to setup Multifactor Authentication (MFA). This is a University requirement and it protects your information.  You can follow the steps here to do that here Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

How do I login to Microsoft 365? 

There are three different options:

  • Via web browser: https://microsoft365.com
  • Via your desktop apps like Word, Excel, etc.
  • Via your OneDrive desktop client (for Windows 10/11 or Mac devices only)

Wondering what you will see when you log into Microsoft 365?

When you log into Microsoft 365 via https://microsoft365.com you will see the apps available to you similar to the picture below. Just click on any of them to start using them. Why not click on Teams to explore the new ways of collaboration?
