Information Governance

Information Governance (IG) is tasked with managing all information within an organisation and balances the use of information with its security and confidentiality.  IG encompasses more than traditional records management.  It incorporates information security and protection, compliance, data governance, risk management, privacy, data storage and archiving.

The following pages provide information on how IG is organised and managed at the University of Sunderland and provides guidance for staff along with helpful advice for others who may wish to find out more.
